Abstract:
An investigation of the absorption enhancement and stability of organic solar cells (OSCs) with regular and reverse configurations will be discussed. The simulation reveals that OSCs with reverse geometry always possess a higher absorption compared to the structurally identical regular configuration OSCs. The reverse configuration OSCs, have an organic functional stack sandwiched between an Al-modified indium tin oxide transparent cathode and an opaque bi-layer MoO3/Ag anode is more efficient than a control regular OSC. The dissociation of excitons at the Al/organic cathode interface in regular geometry OSCs hampers the electron collection. The origin of unfavorable electron collection is mainly due to the compensation of drifted photo-generated electrons at the organic/cathode (Al) interface, which can be eliminated, e.g., by inserting a thin ZnO interlayer between the organic layer and Al electrode. This work clearly reveals that the removal of the unfavorable interfacial exciton dissociation is a perquisite for a significant enhancement in power conversion efficiency in OSCs.
Biography:
朱福榮現(xiàn)任香港浸會大學(xué)物理系教授。于1983年和1986年,在復(fù)旦大學(xué)物理系分別獲得學(xué)士和碩士學(xué)位。1993年獲得澳大利亞查爾斯達(dá)爾文大學(xué)(Charles Darwin University)物理系博士學(xué)位。于1993至1995年,在日本京都大學(xué)電氣與電子工程系從事博士后研究,1995年至1997年,在澳大利亞莫道克大學(xué)(Murdoch University)物理系任研究員,從事等離子體化學(xué)氣相沉積硅薄膜器件的研究工作。1997?2009年在新加坡材料研究院 (Institute of Materials Research and Engineering) 從事有機(jī)電致發(fā)光二極管和有機(jī)太陽能電池的研究。2009年加入香港浸會大學(xué)物理系。目前主要從事有機(jī)光電子器件物理的教學(xué)和研究工作。已發(fā)表120余篇研究論文,論文被他引3000余次。培養(yǎng)博士研究生14人,已畢業(yè)7人。
